Chris McCarron Joins Air Force Men’s Basketball Staff

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Chris McCarron has been named an assistant coach for Air Force men's basketball for the 2026-27 season, announced today by head coach Joe Crispin.
"We are excited to welcome Chris McCarron to Air Force basketball," Crispin said. "He loves his country and loves the game, so I am confident he will serve our cadets and program well."
McCarron comes to the Academy from Rowan University, where he recently completed four years with the men's basketball program.
McCarron is a 2026 graduate of Rowan, having lettered four years in basketball, including the last two seasons as a team captain. As a senior, he appeared in 23 games, averaging 4.3 points per game. His 22 three's ranked third on the team. McCarron played his freshman season under Crispin back in 2022-23, helping guide the Profs to the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Championship that season. He played his remaining three seasons at Rowan under current Air Force assistant coach Eric Brennan.
As a standout in the classroom, McCarron earned NABC honors court honors as a senior and also earned NJAC All-Academic and Rowan Scholar-Athlete honors.
McCarron has five years of player development experience. He was the head trainer/director of Real Results Basketball Training in the Philadelphia area, with training experience across all ages of players, from the elementary school level, all the way up to professional athletes.
McCarron has several ties to the Air Force Academy and other branches of the military. His sister, Ellie, is a member of the USAFA class of 2029 and on women's soccer team. In addition to his sister, his cousin, Will Staring, is a member of the USAFA class of 2027 and is a team captain on the men's ice hockey team. McCarron also has additional family ties to service, as his brother, Pat, is a Naval officer and cousin Bobby is an Army West Point grad., class of 2026.
