Air Force Dominant Against Navy at CIC Challenge Friday

Air Force men's tennis had a dominant showing against Navy in a hidden dual contest Friday at the Commander-In-Chief's Challenge at the Army Navy Club in Washington, DC. In its fall-opener, the Falcons won eight of nine contests on the night.

In doubles, the Falcons took two of three. Tyler Leaird and Caden Lee won their doubles match 6-2. Langdon Tingleaf and Muyang Li won 7-5.

The Falcons went a perfect 6-0 in singles play, winning all six in straight sets. Tingleaf defeated Steve Nguyen 6-1, 6-3. Alec Fritzinger defeated Jake Young 6-4, 7-5. Matthew Staton defeated Jason Kim 7-6 (8-6), 7-6 (7-4). Yi defeated Somei Ogata 6-4, 6-4. Leaird defeated Alberto Cutone 6-2, 6-4. Caleb Chow defeated James Thomson 6-2, 6-4.

It was the collegiate debuts for the freshmen Chow, Yu and Jaden Woller-Li, who competed in doubles.

"I'm happy the team is back on the courts! The energy tonight was excellent, and we fought through some difficult moments as a group. It's always special to compete against our service academy peers, and I'm thankful for the Falcon faithful support in the stands tonight. I was particularly impressed with Langdon, he had composure and played confident throughout doubles and singles. We look forward to a tough Georgetown team tomorrow evening!"

The Falcons return to action Saturday facing Georgetown. Competition begins at 5 pm ET.
