Falcons Open Commander-in-Chief’s Challenge Against Navy

WASHINGTON, D.C.- Air Force women's tennis opened the Commander-in-Chief's Challenge on Friday with singles and doubles competition against Navy.
The Falcons earned four singles victories on the opening day. Yule Kang picked up a 6-3, 6-3 straight-set win, while Stephanie Marcheret earned a 6-2, 7-6 (7-4) victory. Maya Michalski battled back after dropping the opening set to secure a 1-6, 6-3, 10-8 win. Shivaani Selvan added a 6-2, 6-4 straight-set victory.
Tana Christopulos split the first two sets before falling in the deciding tiebreaker, 6-1, 4-6, 10-12. Tia Christopulos dropped the opening set 5-7 before taking the second, 7-5, and ultimately falling 7-10 in the deciding 10-point tiebreaker.
Air Force swept all three doubles matches against Navy. Selvan and Nadia Kojonroj earned a 6-3 victory, while Tana Christopulos and Kate Craver picked up a 6-1 win. Sofi Garcia and Michalski completed the doubles sweep with a 6-4 victory.
The Falcons continue competition at the Commander-in-Chief's Challenge on Saturday.
