Air Force Sweeps Main and Consolation Draws At ITA Bedford Cup In The Mountains

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's tennis capped the third day of the 2026 ITA Bedford Cup In The Mountains in strong fashion Sunday, Sept. 20, at the Air Force Outdoor Intercollegiate Tennis Courts. Air Force won both the main and consolation draws as the team finished with nine wins on the final day.
Playing the Dominant Duo format, the pairing of junior Langdon Tingleaf and freshman Muyang Yi swept all three matches against Gareth Igesund/Reuben De Klerk of Montana State. The pair won the doubles match 6-2. Both dropped their first round matches in singles but rallied by winning the second and third sets to pull out the Bedford Cup title. Tingleaf and Yi completed a perfect weekend, going 12-0.
Junior Matthew State and freshman Caleb Chow won the consolation draw, defeating Ethan Masselis/Elijah Calaquian of Montana State. The pair won the doubles 6-4. Staton won at singles over Masselis to clinch the draw.
Air Force also had a pairing win from senior Alec Fritzinger and freshman Jaden Woller-Li. The pair won their doubles match over Clement Lecoq/Antonie du toit Malan of Weber State 6-4. Fritzinger and Woller-Li swept singles for the win.

"I'm always thrilled for the team to compete at home. We have an incredible advantage being on our courts with the energy, the fans, and the environment. Each player on the team showed a lot of positives throughout the weekend, but the guys that stand out are Daniel, Tyler, Caleb, Matt, and of course our tournament champions, Langdon and Muyang. It's not easy battling through an entire weekend of tennis, and I could tell our guys were feeling it mentally and physically, but I was so proud of the way we were digging deep and finding the extra motivation to finish strong. Our team is fun to watch. We've got a great team culture that we are constantly building and working on, and we are always going to compete, no matter what. Special thanks to Josh Burke and Yumin Kim, our absolutely essential team managers for their tireless work this weekend, and our parents and fans who were able to get out and support. Go Falcons!"
