Ashley Yenawine Earns Mountain West Freshman of the Week Honors

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Air Force midfielder Ashley Yenawine was named the Mountain West Freshman of the Week for her performance in two matches this week, as announced by conference officials Monday morning.
The honor marks the Falcons' second Mountain West weekly award of the season and the first collegiate recognition for Yenawine.
The Westfield, N.J., native appeared in both matches, helping Air Force to a 2-1 come-from-behind victory at Denver and a 2-2 draw against Eastern Washington.
She recorded 14 minutes at DU.
Against the Eagles, Yenawine scored her first collegiate goal, netting the equalizer in the 81st minute. With Air Force trailing 1-0, the freshman intercepted the ball well outside the box before unleashing a strike that sailed just over the fingertips of the Eastern Washington goalkeeper and into the back of the net to level the match.
Through eight matches this season, Yenawine has logged 219 minutes and recorded three points on one goal and one assist.
