Before Air Force: Competed for Pocatello Fencing Club and was coached by Phil Leavitt ... 9th out of 260 at 2019 Junior Olympics ... 13th out of 234 at 2019 NAC Cadet Event ... 3rd out of 200 in Div. 3 Nationals in 2017 .... 7th out of 180 at Div. I Classification tournament at October NAC in 2017 ... graduated with highest honors and is a National Honor Society member.
Personal: Member of cadet squadron 6 ... daughter of Eric and Amy Meyers ... has five siblings ... systems engineering major ... would like to become a pilot and astronaut ... on the Dean's and Athletics list ... active in her squadron as the plans and programs non-commissioned officer and Bravo 1 NCO ... during the summer prior to junior year, completed Operations Air Force at Misawa AB, Japan, where she was able to shadow operation Air Force positions, including F-16 pilots and got an incentive ride in an F-16. Was also a flight NCO for Barbarians Alpha Flight and was the cadet officer for a group of 26 basic cadets and led them through Jacks Valley for the second beast of basic training ... Why I decided to come to the Academy: "I strive to better myself in every way possible and I viewed the Academy as a premier place to become the best version of myself possible while pushing myself every day." ... hobbies are playing her guitar and ukelele, hiking, socializing and baking ... began fencing at age 15 ... credits her grand father and fencing coach, Phil Leavitt, as having the biggest influence on her sports career ... pre-competition superstitions are to have a herbalife protein shake, dance to an upbeat song, pray, drink a perrior and run. Also has to have ice cream two days before competing ... dream vacation spot is Iceland ... guilty pleasure is any and all ice cream ... favorite role model is her mom ... something most people don't know about her is that she loves acting ... enjoys listening to Lauren Daigle, James Arthur, Alec Benjamin, John Legen, pop country and fingerstyle guitar ... favorite TV show is Stranger Things ... favorite movie is Inside Out ... favorite class subject is yoga ... favorite athlete is Tim Tebow ... favorite team is the Colorado Rockies ... nothing makes her happier than a cold sparkling water, guitar and a long beautiful hike. Other than fencing of course!
