Congratulations on your decision to become an Air Force Academy cadet-athlete. You have made a significant investment in your future. This is a life-changing decision that will be as rewarding as it is challenging.
Competing in intercollegiate athletics at the Academy is a privilege, and should not be taken lightly. Cadet-athletes are held in high regard and seen as role models in the Cadet Wing and our community. Being a cadet-athlete also puts you in the public eye and you are a representative of the Air Force, the Academy, your squadron, your teammates, coaches and staff at all times. This is an awesome responsibility!
To be successful, you must strike a balance between academics, athletics and military standards. We expect you to strive to excel in every area and become a leader of character for our Air Force and the nation. Being a member of a team means you must support your teammates and hold each other accountable in all your endeavors. You should also take coaching and instruction the way it’s intended, to help you become the best person, leader and teammate you can.
Please read and absorb the messages communicated to you in the cadet-athlete handbook, as well as the important messages you see on this page. This will be an important resource for you to refer back to throughout your experience here.
Congratulations once again on your decision to be a part of something bigger than yourself – a cadet-athlete at the Air Force Academy. I’m confident your participation will not only enhance your experience, it will provide lifelong friendships and afford you valuable life-lessons not found anywhere else.
Go Falcons!
