Hunter Wolfe joins the Falcons as an assistant coach prior to the 2027 season, following two seasons at Murray State, where he helped lead the Racers to 77 wins and the most successful stretch in program history. Murray State captured 44 wins in 2025 and made the program’s first College World Series appearance.
Under Wolfe’s guidance, the Racers developed into one of the Missouri Valley Conference’s top offensive programs, leading the league in on-base percentage, hits, runs, RBIs, doubles, triples and walks over his first two seasons. He helped produce nine All-MVC selections and 2025 All-American Jonathan Hogart, while also helping develop Will Vierling into an 11th-round selection by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 2025 MLB Draft. Several other players earned professional opportunities during his tenure.
Prior to Murray State, Wolfe spent two summers with the DFW Twins, working with youth athletes and helping players advance to collegiate programs at the JUCO, NAIA and NCAA Division I, II and III levels.
Wolfe began his collegiate playing career at Walters State Community College, earning NJCAA All-American honors and helping the Senators to a national runner-up finish in 2018. He was selected in the MLB Draft in consecutive years by the Pittsburgh Pirates and Kansas City Royals before continuing his career at TCU. With the Horned Frogs, Wolfe hit .316 with a .934 OPS and helped TCU win a Big 12 Championship and earn a national seed in the NCAA Tournament. He later played professionally for the Cleburne Railroaders and was named the organization’s Rookie of the Year in 2022.
