Alves, from Elizabeth, New Jersey, is a new member of the cheerleading team. Having previously competed on the Elizabeth track and field team as a distance runner and eventually a pole vaulter, he became the Union County pole vault champion during the indoor season of his senior year. He graduated in 2023 from Elizabeth High School where he went on to attend Rutgers School of Engineering for two semesters before coming to the United States Air Force Academy. At USAFA, he plans on pursuing a pure mathematics degree as well as minor in Japanese.
