- ALL-CONFERENCE SELECTION | 2021 CROSS COUNTRY

JUNIOR YEAR | 2021: Second-team all-conference selection…clocked an 8K time of 23:52.2 to place 13th at the Mountain West Championships…Falcons’ No. 4 runner in two meets…registered a personal-best time of 23:39.4 to finish 22nd out of 149 runners at the Bill Dellinger Invitational…placed 58th out of 246 runners at the Nuttycombe Invitational (24:08.9)…opened the season with a four-mile time of 20:15.3 at the Air Force Open (seventh)…earned the team’s Comeback Award.

SOPHOMORE YEAR | 2020: Did not compete during the pandemic-shortened season.

FRESHMAN YEAR | 2019: Competed in three meets...top finisher on the Air Force squad that placed fourth at the Woody Greeno/Jay Dirksen Invitational...clocked an 8K time of 25:30.1 to finish 19th out of 237 runners at that meet...added a career-best time of 25:17.0 to finish 20th at the UCCS Open...made collegiate debut at the Air Force Open, posting a four-mile time of 21:09.9 to finish 11th.

MAJOR TRACK AND FIELD HIGHLIGHTS: Set the Junior Class Record in the 10,000-meter run following a 29:12.95 performance at the 2022 Stanford Invitational…that is the seventh-fastest time in Academy history.

HIGH SCHOOL: Saint Thomas Aquinas High School...won two state titles in cross country at the Kansas 5A High School State Championships...also captured a 1600-meter title in track...finished 12th at the Nike Cross Nationals/Heartland Region and 32nd at the Footlocker Midwest Regional...played JV soccer as a freshman...finished with a 3.85 grade-point-average.

PERSONAL: Full name is Ethan John Marshall...nickname is “Thurgood”…son of Thomas and Susan Marshall...has one older brother and one younger sister...majoring in management…named to the Commandant’s List and Athletic Director’s List...hobbies include hiking, golfing, watching sports and playing video games (“my teammates refer to me as a super intense Minecraft player”)...played the piano for seven years...didn’t start running until sophomore year of high school...godfather is an Academy graduate...has three cousins in the military: two in the Air Force ROTC, one in the Navy…member of Cadet Squadron 16.
