JUNIOR YEAR | 2022: Competed in four meets…was the Falcons’ top finisher at the Woody Greeno/Jay Dirksen Invitational and UCCS Open…clocked a career-best 8K time of 24:27.2 to finish sixth out of 323 runners and lead the men to a runner-up finish in the team standings at Greeno…named the Mountain West Runner of the Week following that meet…claimed another sixth-place finish during a team-best 8K of 26:06.3 at the UCCS Open…scoring member of the team that won the Trojan Invitational…clocked an 8K time of 24:49.2 to finish as the Falcons’ No. 4 runner at that meet (14th)…made collegiate debut at the Air Force Classic, recording a four-mile time of 20:51 to finish 14th.

SOPHOMORE YEAR | 2021 - FRESHMAN YEAR | 2020: Did not compete.

MAJOR TRACK AND FIELD HIGHLIGHTS: Set the Academy’s Freshman Class Record in the 10,000-meter run (29:58.78) at the 2021 West Coast Relays…became the 20th Air Force runner to break the 30-minute mark in that event.

HIGH SCHOOL: Kamiakin High School...finished third in the Washington High School State Cross Country Championships as a senior...also collected a pair of third-place finishes in the 3200-meter run at the state’s 3A track championships...named to the Honor Roll seven times.

PERSONAL: Son of Scott and Viola Child...nickname is “Saggs”…has one brother...majoring in management...future career plans include becoming a combat rescue officer or a tactical air control party officer…named to the Athletic Director’s List…would like to mention he got a 78 on his Astro final and passed the class…hobbies include fly fishing and Xbox...attended the Academy’s Prep School...earned an Athletic rope...member of Cadet Squadron 12.
