Jimmy Moody enters his third season as a volunteer assistant coach with Air Force fencing in 2019-20. Moody comes to the Academy with 20 years of fencing experience, most recently as a competitor with USA Fencing.
Moody was part of the 2019-20 staff that produced a successful season for Air Force. The Falcons had five fencers earn NCAA bids, the most since 2015. In addition, two epee qualifiers were the most since 2010. The Falcons produced a school-record five USFCA All-Americans, in addition 10 all-region honorees.
Moody trained at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs from 2009-16 as a resident athlete.
With USA Fencing, Moody was part of the 2016 Pam Am Zonal Team Champion. He was also part of the 2015 Senior World Team. In 2012, Moody was a London Olympics Training Partner for Team USA.
A decorated fencer in the collegiate ranks, Moody was an All-American at Penn State, helping lead the Nittany Lions to two NCAA Fencing Championships. Moody was the team captain of the 2009 team.
A local product, Moody is a Boulder, Colo., native.
