Jordan Eason enters his third year as an assistant offensive line coach at the Academy after spending the previous two years as a football analyst. Eason comes to the football program from the Academy where he was an instructor of Portuguese for the dean of faculty.
His first two seasons working with the offensive line resulted in a pair of conference rushing titles and two top-five national rankings. The Falcons led the conference and ranked fifth in the nation in rushing with a 283.5 average in 2018. Air Force led the league and ranked second in 2019 with a 198.5 average. The offensive line was key to the Falcons leading the league and ranking second nationally last year in time of possession with a 34:28 mark. Air Force was also the conference champ and ranked second national in third-down percentage with a 53.5 mark. The Falcons also led the nation in sacks allowed with just four.
The 2019 Falcons went 11-2, beat Colorado (Pac-12), and beat Washington State (Pac-12) in the Cheez-It Bowl to finish the season ranked 24th nationally.
Eason is a 2013 Academy graduate and three-year football lettermen. He helped the program to 22 wins and three straight bowls games from 2010-12, including a 14-7 victory over Georgia Tech in the 2010 Independence Bowl. Eason helped anchor an offensive line that led the Falcons to three conference rushing titles and three top-three finishes in the national rankings for rushing offense. He also helped the Falcons to four bowl games and a pair of Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy titles. Eason earned second-team all-conference honors in 2012 while winning the Brian Bullard Award, the program’s highest honor which recognizes the player that gives 100 percent in all aspects of the game.
Eason began his Air Force career as a contracting officer for the 633rd contracting squadron at Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Virginia. He was also the flight commander for the 386th expeditionary contracting squadron at Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait, where he earned the Air Force commendation medal for his efforts in Operation Inherent Resolve.
Eason comes from a football family. He served as a Red Hat official for Conference USA in 2014-15. His father, Merrill Eason, was a Division I football official and head linesman for 30 years and worked over 300 games. His brother, Josh, is now a replay communicator for Conference USA.
