Jon Jordan enters his eighth season with Air Force men's basketball for the 2024-25 season. He is in his third season of his second stint at the Academy after returning in 2022-23.
Jordan was also on the Air Force staff from 2000-2005 under Joe Scott and Chris Mooney.
Jordan also worked under Scott at the University of Denver, where he was an assistant and program director for the Pioneers from 2007-16. During his time there, Jordan was part of a staff that produced a league championship and the school’s first-ever postseason victory in the 2013 NIT Tournament.
Jordan is a 1985 graduate of the Academy and was a three-year basketball letterwinner. He averaged nearly 11 points and seven rebounds per game and was named honorable mention all-conference his senior year.
Against conference opponents, he led his team in field-goal percentage at 50.6 percent his junior year and pulled down over 100 rebounds against conference opponents his senior season.
This marks the third stint for Jordan at the Academy. He was the Prep School head coach from 1994-98. He also saw duty as the Prep School’s Athletic Director from ’95-98'.
Jordan began his military career at Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska in 1987 as a squadron executive officer. In 1991, Jordan moved to Castle Air Force Base, Calif., where he performed duties as a command post controller, training officer, and assistant chief of command post. During that time he went back to school to earn his master’s degree in education from Chapman University.
Following his stint at the Prep School, Jordan was stationed at Scott Air Force Base, Ill., as a Branch Chief in the Air Force Communications Agency resolving network security issues in Air Force business and operational mission systems.
Originally from Sacramento, Calif., Jordan is a 1981 graduate of Highlands High School in North Highlands, Calif., where he lettered in basketball, football, tennis, and track and field.
