JUNIOR YEAR | 2017: Played in 124 sets...member of the starting rotation for 27 matches...tied for the team lead with 395 kills...that total is tied for fifth on the program’s Division I single-season record book...matched career-high with a 23-kill outing at Nevada...also reached the 20-kill plateau at Fresno State (20)...posted double-digit kill totals 20 additional times...led the team in kills 14 times...also accounted for 127 digs, 70 blocks (10 solo, 60 assisted), 20 service aces and eight assists...recorded a season-high 10 digs against Liberty...also matched career-high with two solo blocks during that match and added 10 kills for a double-double...tallied a career-best six blocks (all assisted) in home contests against Southern Utah and Utah State...recorded a personal-best three service aces against Wyoming...posted four additional multi-ace outings...named to the all-tournament team of the Amy Svoboda Classic.
SOPHOMORE YEAR | 2016: Saw action in 113 sets...member of the starting rotation for 22 matches...tallied 364 kills to debut in 10th on the program’s Division I single-season record book...recorded first 20-kill match of career during a 23-score performance in the season-opener against Jacksonville State...also broke the 20-kill mark against Grand Canyon and Colgate (22 each)...led the team in kills during six matches, while tying for the team lead in three other contests...set a Clune Arena record for points in a match, with 27.0 against Jacksonville State...also set the arena record for highest point total in a four-set contest (20.0, Southern Utah)...registered a personal-best .586 hitting percentage against Alabama A&M, tallying 18 kills on 29 attempts, with just one error...added 43 total blocks (10 solo, 33 assisted), 81 digs and six service aces...notched a pair of solo blocks during both contests with Fresno State (career high)...equaled career high with four assisted stops against San Jose State...registered a personal-best 14 digs against Montana State...recorded double-doubles during first two matches of the season (Jacksonville State: 23 kills, 10 digs; Montana State: 17 kills, 14 digs)...also posted a career-high two aces in the JSU match...named to the all-tournament team of the Amy Svoboda Memorial Classic and the Sawyer Camillo Memorial Classic...selected to the Mountain West All-Star Team that competed at the European Global Challenge in Croatia.
FRESHMAN | 2015: Competed in 25 sets...member of the starting lineup against Arizona State and at Colorado State...collected 33 kills, 13 assisted blocks, six assists and four digs on the year...registered a career-high eight kills in season-opener against Montana...added at least five kills against Northeastern (seven), New Mexico State (five) and Colorado State (five)...hit a career-best .417 against the Rams, registering five kills on 12 swings (no errors)...posted career-high tallies in blocks (four vs New Mexico State), assists (three vs Northeastern) and digs (two vs Arizona State) during the season-opening Falcon Classic.
HIGH SCHOOL | CLUB TEAM: St. Dominic Savio Catholic High School...coached by Jeff Cooper...lettered in volleyball all four years...earned all-state honors for three straight years...served as team captain...named the school’s Female Athlete of the Year...competed at the club level for Austin Juniors Volleyball...coached by Amy Farber-Knowles...qualified for the Junior Olympics four times...competed on a team that won two national tournaments.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Paul and Patricia Miksch...nickname is Abz...has two older siblings and three younger siblings...majoring in mathematics...future plans include becoming an F-22 pilot...served as the Charlie Squadron Commander at the Prep School during summer training in 2018...has also served as Element Leader and Flight NCO...named the top squadron commander at Prep School Basic Military Training...earned military pin...attended the Academy’s Prep School...served as the volleyball team captain...hobbies include hunting, fishing, hiking and relaxing in the sun...worked as a counselor during Falcon Sports Camp and worked BMT at the prep school over the summer...also flew in a Cessna 172 and spent time with family (hunting, fishing and swimming)...would like to add “I am so very grateful to attend the Air Force Academy.
