Kate Kelly is in her fifth season as the director of operations for the Air Force volleyball team. Kelly, who joined the Falcons’ staff in June 2016, oversees the logistics and day-to-day administrative duties of the program, while also working with DataVolley and serving as the team’s coordinator for opponent video exchange.
Kelly came to Air Force from Gonzaga, where she held a variety of jobs at her alma mater, including two seasons (2012-13) as the director of operations for the Zags’ volleyball team. A three-year student manager for the team, Kelly transitioned into the DoVO position in August 2012. During her tenure, Kelly coordinated travel plans and video exchange, while assisting with the program’s daily administrative duties. She also spent four years as the administrative director for ZagCamp, handling all registration information and coordinating the camp’s housing and dining needs.
Prior to leaving Spokane for the Academy, she worked as the program coordinator in Gonzaga’s Study Abroad Office. Kelly, who traveled to Zambia and Jordan through the study abroad program as a student, helped current students through the program process, managed the applications of those participating in designated sponsor programs and created a Pre-Departure Orientation that was implemented to over 200 students during her tenure.
In addition to her duties with the Study Abroad Office, Kelly served as the staff representative on the Athletics Advisory Committee and was a member of the Ignatian Leaders Scholarship Committee.
A native of Viroqua, Wis., Kelly received both her undergraduate and Master's degrees from Gonzaga University. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in international relations in 2013, while completing her Masters of Business Administration in 2016.
