Water Polo Falls To UCLA At Northern California Tournament

The Air Force water polo team fell 13-5 to second-ranked UCLA in its first day of competition at the Northern California Water Polo Tournament in Palo Alto. The Falcons, currently ranked 17th, were also edged by Univ. of the Pacific, 6-5, in Saturday's competition. Against UCLA, C2C (Jr.) Chris Smith led the scoring for Air Force with two goals. C1C David Breitenbach, C2C (Jr.) Josh Shadrick, and C4C (Fr.) Garrett Ericksen each netted one. C3C (So.) Scott Butler led the Falcons in scoring against Univ. of the Pacific, netting three goals, followed by C3Cs John Whitehill and Micah Peterson who each had one. Air Force is now 6-6 this season. The Falcons play their final games of the tournament on Sunday against Santa Clara and UC Davis. Air Force defeated Santa Clara earlier this season, 7-4, at the UC-Santa Cruz Slugfest.
