Water Polo Rebounds In Second Day Of Northern California Tournament

The Air Force water polo team came back in its second of competition at the Northern California water polo tournament, defeating Santa Clara (10-8) and UC Davis (4-3).
C3C (So.) Scott Butler had an incredible game scoring five goals to lead the Falcons to victory against Santa Clara during Sunday's match. Also contributing to the scoring were C1Cs (Sr.) Brian Hasbrouck and David Breitenbach who each netted one, C2C (Jr.) Chris Smith and C3Cs Micah Peterson and John Whitehill who each scored one. In goal, C3C Brandon Shroyer had six saves.
Butler and Smith managed another two goals each against UC Davis in Air Force's final game of the tournament. Shroyer had an outstanding game with 12 saves in goal.
The Falcons are now 8-6 this season and will be in action again Oct. 27-28 when they host the Air Force Water Polo Tournament at the Cadet Gymnasium's Natatorium. The Falcons will face Cal Baptist in a 10:15 a.m. match Oct. 27 before taking on Navy at 6:45 p.m. Air Force plays a noon game the following day against UC Davis followed by a match against UC San Diego at 3:30 p.m.
