CHICAGO - (Nov. 25) The Air Force women's basketball team remained winless following a disappointing 73-57 loss to Brown in the consolation game of the UIC Thanksgiving Tournament.
Air Force had serious problems getting things going offensively in the first half. The team missed its first eight shots and went just two-for-28 from the field in the first half (.071 percent). They trailed 45-16 at the half, having its lowest scoring output in a half this season.
The Falcons offense came alive in the second stanza. After scoring just 16 points in the first half, the team notched 18 in the first seven minutes of the second half. They scored the first seven points of the half and cut the lead to as few as 16 points. But in the end, the comeback fell short as the 29-point halftime deficit that was just too much to overcome.
For the second straight game, Amoy Jackson led the Falcons in scoring with 14 points. Latoya Howell added nine points for Air Force and Gwendolyn Grove had a career-high nine points on three treys. Samantha Clifton grabbed 10 rebounds.
Air Force (0-4) will be back in action on Friday, Nov. 30, when they look to snap the four-game losing skid against Binghamton in the first game of the Falcon Invitational tournament.
