UNLV's Jessika Vasquez scored the game-winning goal in overtime as the Rebels defeated the Falcons, 1-0, in a Mountain West Conference women's soccer game Friday night in Las Vegas, Nev.
Vasquez scored the game-winner with just eight seconds remaining in the second overtime. Just when the game looked like it would end in a scoreless, overtime tie, Nickie Olson sent a cross into the penalty box and Vasquez headed it past AFA goalie J.J. Wolf.
UNLV, 9-4-1 overall and 1-1 in the MWC, out-shot Air force 22-7 overall and 16-2 on goal. The Rebels held a 12-4 shot advantage in the second half and a 6-1 lead in overtime.
Wolf made 15 saves for the Falcons while UNLV's Jenna Huff made two in the shutout victory.
Air Force, 5-10 overall and 0-3 in the MWC, faces San Diego State on Sunday, Oct. 20, in California.
