The Air Force men's tennis team lost its second Mountain West Conference match in as many days Saturday, falling 6-1 to Utah in a match played at the University of New Mexico. The loss drops the Falcons to 12-7 overall this season and 0-4 in Mountain West Conference action.
The Cougars captured the doubles point by winning two of three doubles matches. Junior Eric Pittman and freshman Tyler McClung combined to win their second match of the weekend, taking theNo. 2 doubles match, 8-5, over Utah's Tyler Poulson and Daniel Carlsson.
AFA senior Kyle Rainey captured the only singles win for the Falcons, beating Nik Yip, 6-4, 7-6, at the No. 2 position. Two singles matches were extended to three sets as Poulson beat AFA's Justin Mancinelli, 6-3, 1-6, 6-3, at No. 4, while Utah's Daniel Lohff defeated Tyler McClung, 2-6, 7-6, 6-3, at the No. 5 spot.
The Falcons complete their weekend in Albuquerque on Sunday, April 7 with a match against the University of New Mexico. The match will start at 10 a.m.
