Buck Upset in Quarterfinals of ITA Region Championships

Air Force sophomore Shannon Buck's run to a regional championship was halted Saturday by Boise State's Matias Silva, 6-3, 7-5 in the quarterfinals of the ITA Mountain Region Men's Tennis Championships in Las Vegas, Nev.
Buck, the top-seeded player in the tournament, had won three consecutive straight-set matches before falling to the eighth-seeded Silva, who will play New Mexico's Divan Coetzee in the finals on Sunday.
The tournament marks the end of the fall season for Air Force. The Falcons' first match in the spring will be on Friday, Jan. 16 against Utah State in Logan, Utah.
