Falcons shut out Montana, 7-0

The Air Force men's tennis team defeated the University of Montana, 7-0, Saturday morning in the Cadet Gymnasium's Indoor Tennis Courts. Air Force won all three doubles matches and six singles contests to improve to 9-1 this season.
Freshman Shannon Buck improved to 9-0 at No. 1 singles by defeating Jan Steenekamp, 6-4, 6-1. Senior Eric Pittman won at the No. 2 singles spot against Stan Nevolovich, winning 6-3, 6-4. Sophomore Tyler McClung won at No. 3 singles, 7-6, 6-2, over Ryan O'Neill. Freshman Martin Black, senior Tyler West and sophomore Chris Dong won in straight sets at No. 4, 5 and 6 singles, respectively.
In doubles action, Pittman and McClung improved to 10-0 at the No. 1 position with an 8-3 victory over Steenekamp and Nevolovich. The team of junior Justin Mancinelli and Buck won 8-2 at No. 2, while Dong and Black took the No. 3 match, 8-6.
The Falcons play two more matches on Saturday against Creighton (3 p.m.) and UMKC (6 p.m.).
