Air Force heavyweight wrestler Kevin Hoy became a two-time All-American by capturing second place at the 2003 NCAA Wrestling Championships. Hoy lost in the championship finals to Iowa's Steve Mocca by an 8-3 decision.
Hoy won his first four matches at the tournament, including a default victory over Tommy Rowlands, the defending national champion. Despite a hard-fought finals match, he couldn't overcome Mocca, who is unbeaten in matches this season.
Hoy is one of the most prolific wrestlers in Air Force history. He finished the season ranked second in most polls. Hoy led the team with a 44-4 record, with two of his losses coming to Mocca. Hoy had won 27 consecutive matches before falling in the finals. He is the Falcons winningest wrestler with 160 career victories.
