Air Force Downs UNLV, 5-2

The 75th-ranked Air Force men's tennis team evened its Mountain West Conference record at 1-1 Saturday with a 5-2 victory over UNLV in San Diego. Air Force improves to 17-3 overall this season.
The Falcons captured the doubles point by sweeping all three doubles matches. Eric Pittman and Tyler McClung took the No. 1 match, 8-5, over Henner Nehles and Romain Massaro. Shannon Buck and Justin Mancinelli defeated Aviam Salomon and Joel Kielbowicz, 8-5, at No. 2 while Chris Dong and Martin Black completed the hat trick with an 8-2 win over Ryan Barber and Milos Blagojevic.
Buck improved to 17-1 at No. 1 singles with a 7-5, 6-0 victory over Nehles. UNLV tied the team match at 2-all with wins at No. 2 and 3, then Mancinelli put the Falcons up 3-2 with a 6-2, 2-6, 6-1 win over Kielbowicz at No. 4. Black clinched the match for Air Force, winning the No. 5 match, 6-1, 6-2 over Blagojevic. Dong cruised in the No. 6 slot by defeating Barber 6-0, 6-3.
The Falcons are idle until Friday, April 11 with a home match against BYU beginning at 2 p.m.
