AFA-BYU game suspended due to weather

The Air Force-BYU baseball game on Thursday, May 15, was suspended due to heavy rains and lightning. The game is in the bottom of the first inning with BYU leading 1-0.
The game will restart in the bottom of the first inning beginning at 12:30 p.m. Friday, May 16, and will be played as a nine-inning game. Upon completion of the game, the Falcons and Cougars will play the regularly-scheduled, nine-inning game on Friday. There will be 30 minutes between games.
Air Force freshman Jason Brown and BYU junior Jeff Mousser started on the mound. The Cougars took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Doug Jackson led off the game with a walk and advanced to third on Ranger Wiens' double. Jackson scored on Kainoa Obrey's sacrifice fly to right field.
The Falcons threatened in the bottom of the first when Adam Howes led off with a single and Reid Lamson was hit by pitch. The game will resume with runners on first and second, one out and Josh Phifer at the plate for Air Force with no count.
The series concludes on Saturday with a scheduled single game at 2 p.m.
