Falcons and Vandals tie 1-1

Air Force and Idaho played to a 1-1 overtime tie in a non-conference women's soccer game Friday afternoon, Sept. 26, in Moscow, Idaho.
Air Force, 4-3-1 overall this season, took a 1-0 lead early in the game as Meredith Benson scored at the 21:07 mark from Cookie Day. Idaho, 2-4-4 overall, tied the score in the 47th minute on a goal by Alyson Smith.
Neither team scored in the overtime period, but Idaho had a 4-1 advantage in shots in the extra periods.
Idaho had a 21-12 advantage in total shots, but the Falcons had five shots on goal to three for the Vandals. Falcon goaltender J.J. Wolf made two saves while Lindsay Smith made five for Idaho.
Air Force returns to action Sunday, Sept. 29, against Gonzaga in Spokane, Wash.
