Tyler McClung Named MWC Player of the Week

Air Force junior Tyler McClung has been named Mountain West Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week after winning four singles and four doubles matches last week without a loss.
McClung, a Puyallup, Wash., native, went undefeated in four singles and four doubles matches last week as Air Force posted a 2-2 record. Competing at the No. 4 spot, McClung opened the weekend with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Mike Good of Army, followed by another straight set win (6-4, 6-1) over Montana State's Branden Olson. The next day, he defeated Sergi Vila of Drake, 6-3, 6-4 and beat John Ghani of Missouri-Kansas City, 6-1, 6-1. McClung also teamed with Shannon Buck to post a 4-0 record in No. 1 doubles play. The duo is now 14-2 overall and 12-1 in dual matches at the No. 1 position.
Air Force, 9-5 this season after their 6-1 victory over Boston University at home on Tuesday, is idle until Sunday, March 21 when it plays at Santa Clara beginning at 11 a.m.
