Wrestlers Fall in Opening Round of Nationals

Both Air Force wrestlers lost their opening round matches at the NCAA Wrestling Tournament in St. Louis, Mo.
At 133 pounds, sophomore Brandon Strong (Albuquerque, N.M.) was pinned in the third period by No. 11 Ed Gutnik of Wisconsin. At 149 pounds, freshman Chris Nissen (Denver, Colo.) was also pinned by his opponent, No. 4 Ryan Churella of Michigan. With just 12 seconds remaining in the match, Nissen suffered the fall.
Strong will face off against Either David Hoffman (Virginia Tech) or Don Fisch (Rider) in the second round. Nissen will face Michigan State's Brandon McKnight.
