COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Air Force track senior Sean Temple (Monument, Colo.) was named the Mountain West Conference Men's Track and Field Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced today (March 25).
Temple earned the honor after winning the 110-meter hurdles and finishing second in the 400-meter hurdles at the Collegiate Classic in Irvine, Calif., last Saturday (March 20). Temple led a 1-2-3 sweep of Falcons in the 110-meter hurdles, with a NCAA Regional Qualifying Time of 14.30 - a time that currently ranks 12th in the nation. His time in the 400-meter hurdles was clocked at 53.28.
The senior also ran the second leg of the winning 4x100-meter relay team, which crossed the finish line in 41.87. Joining Temple on that team was senior Luke Marker (who finished second in the 110-meter hurdles), sophomore Troy Jensen and senior Nick Bromberek.
Temple, who earned one weekly conference honor during the indoor season, was joined this week by San Diego State's Tonette Dyer, who was named the league's top female athlete.
The Falcons return to action tomorrow (March 26), when they compete at the two-day Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif.
