San Diego State Nips Air Force, 4-3

The San Diego State women's tennis team swept all three doubles matches and split the six singles matches Friday as the Aztecs defeated Air Force, 4-3, at the Academy. With the loss, Air Force fell to 13-10 overall and 1-4 in league play.
After taking a 1-0 lead with wins at all three doubles spots, the 73rd-ranked Aztecs won at Nos. 2, 3 and 5 singles. Air Force senior Laura Nigro held on to win the No. 1 singles match in three sets, 6-3, 5-7, 6-3, over SDSU's Dita Hauerlandova. Nigro led 6-3, 5-2 before Hauerlandova won five straight games to claim the second set, but Nigro recovered to take the third set.
Fellow senior Gina Black won the No. 4 match for Air Force, defeating Patricia Graf, 6-2, 7-6. Falcon Miclynn Crail won a thrilling No. 6 match over Julie Litrich, 6-3, 4-6 and 11-9 in the third set super tiebreak.
SDSU's Katalina Romero and Alesya Vidov won the Nos. 2 and 3 match, respectively and Sarah Sansom clinched the team match with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Katie Tomkie at No. 5.
Air Force will host UNLV on Saturday, April 17 at 9 a.m.
