Falcons Gear Up For NCAA Regional Championships

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Several members of the Air Force track and field program will be traveling to College Station, Texas, on May 28-29, to compete at the 2004 NCAA Midwest Regional Championships. The meet begins both days at noon and will be held at the Frank G. Anderson Track and Field Complex on the campus of Texas A&M University.

In addition to the Midwest Regional, there will be three other sites hosting NCAA preliminaries. Florida (East), Louisiana State (Mid-East) and Cal State Northridge (West) will also be hosting regional competitions. The top five finishers in each event at each regional will receive a berth to the NCAA National Championships, which are scheduled for June 9-12 in Austin, Texas.
There were 16 members of the men's team that qualified for the NCAA Regional Championships in nine different events.

Sean Temple (110-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles)
Mark Walter (1500-meter run)
Six members of the women's team qualified in three events.

SHEDULE OF EVENTS
The men's high jump and women's hammer throw kicks off the NCAA Midwest Regional field events at noon CDT on Friday (May 28), while the preliminaries of the 4x100-meter relay starts the racing events at 4 p.m. The field events will begin at noon on Saturday (May 29), while the track events are slated to begin at 6 p.m. A complete schedule of events is available on www.aggieathletics.com.
