Falcons Finish First Day At Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate

Las Cruces, N.M. -- With junior Tyler Goulding (Tracy, Calif.) leading the way, the Air Force golf team finished the first two rounds of competition Monday at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate, hosted by New Mexico State at the par-72, 7,074-yard NMSU Golf Course. The Falcons turned in a two-round total of 607, while UT-Arlington and Idaho are tied at the top of the team leaderboard with a first-day score of 573.
Goulding used two solid rounds of 72 to finish the first day of competition tied for 12th place with an even-par 144. Just three strokes behind of Goulding is senior captain Scott Redmond (Columbus, Ga.), who is tied for 34th place after firing a 72 to begin the day.
Also competing for Air Force at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate are sophomores Bob Whitney (La Quinta, Calif.), Jared Freeman (Brazil, Ind.) and Tyler Labrum (Roosevelt, Utah). Whitney finished the opening day in 72nd place with a 157, Freeman was 78th with a 162 and Labrum sits in 79th place at 164.
The final round of the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate is slated to begin Tuesday with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m.
