Air Force Finishes 15th At UH Fall Invitational

Kaneohe, Hawaii -- Playing its best round of the week on the final day, the Air Force golf team finished in 15th place at the University of Hawaii Fall Invitational, being held at the par-72, 6,559-yard Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course. The Falcons fired a team score of 303 Wednesday in the final round, bringing their total to 927. Capturing first place at the event was New Mexico State, which finished at 871 (+7), just one stroke ahead of second-place UNLV, while four different players tied for top honors with a three-round total of 214.
The Falcons were led by junior Chad Follett (El Paso, Texas), who ended up tied for 41st place after shooting a 76 in the final round to end the tournament at 229. Senior captain Scott Redmond (Columbus, Ga.), who turned in a team-low round of 72 on Wednesday, finished just one stroke behind to tie for 43rd in the individual standings. Meanwhile, junior Tyler Goulding (Tracy, Calif.) ended the week tied at 50th with a total of 231.
Completing the group of Air Force golfers were sophomore Tyler Labrum (Roosevelt, Utah), who finished tied for 88th at 240, and freshman Andrew Gibson (San Ramon, Calif.), who tied for 97th overall with a score of 245.
With the fall season under wraps, the Falcons remains idle until they begins their spring schedule Feb. 13-14, when they travel to San Diego, Calif., for the Pala Mesa Invitational, hosted by Drake University.
