Dana Pounds Finishes Second at USA Track and Field Championships

CARSON, Calif. -- Air Force senior-to-be Dana Pounds (Lexington, Ky.) wrapped up an incredible season with a second-place showing at the USA Track and Field Outdoor Championships in Carson, Calif., on Thursday, June 23.
The top collegiate thrower once again, Pounds threw a 177'4" to place second overall behind American record-holder Kim Kreiner. Kreiner, a competitor for the Nike team, tossed a 184'7" to win the event, while Oregon's Sarah Malone (who finished second to Pounds at the NCAA Championships) placed third with a 176'2".
With the strong showing against the nation's top athletes, Pounds wrapped up an incredible season that included national, regional and conference championship titles.
