Air Force Opens Dual Slate With Pair of Matches

The Air Force wrestling team opens up its 2006-07 dual slate this week. First, the Falcons travel to Western State on Dec. 8, before hosting Colorado School of Mines on Dec. 9. Both matches are slated to begin at 7:00 p.m.
Scouting the Falcons...
The Falcons wrapped up four straight weekends of tournament competition at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational and the FHSU-Bob Smith Open.
Leading Air Force at the prestigious Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational was two-time national qualifier Jake Kriegbaum. The junior compiled a 2-2 record on the weekend to pace Air Force.
Meanwhile, five individuals picked up two wins each at the FHSU-Bob Smith Open, hosted by Fort Hays State. Andrew Teigeler won a pair of decisions, including an upset of fourth-seeded Cale Farber at 149 pounds. Freshman Akira Nervik recorded a pair of pins, while A.J. Harris, Thomas Gorry and Jordan Tribble all notched two wins each.

Kid Force Clinic...
This season, the Falcons' wrestling program will hold a Kid Force clinic immediately before each home match. The clinics will give young athletes exposure to the sport of wrestling.
Practice attire for clinic attendants will be gym shorts, t-shirts and clean shoes. Meanwhile, head gear, wrestling shoes and mouth piece are always encouraged but not required.

The Falcons will have the next few weeks off before returning to action Dec. 29-30 at the prestigious Midlands Invitational, hosted by Northwestern.
