Falcons Complete First Day At Ron Moore Invitational

Goodyear, Ariz. -- With two rounds under wraps, the Air Force golf team sits in 17th place at the Ron Moore Invitational, hosted by the University of Denver at the par-72, 7,015-yard Palm Valley Golf Club. Kansas sits atop the leaderboard at the conclusion of the first day of competition with a score of 554, followed by Nebraska in a close second at 556 and Louisville in third place with a two-round total of 559.
The Falcons, who combined to shoot a 605 on the first day, is paced by freshman Shaun O'Bryant (Colorado Springs, Colo.), who sits tied for 54th place with a two-round total of 146, while junior Tyler Goulding (Tracy, Calif.) sits just one stroke behind in a tie for 68th place. Sophomore Bob Whitney (La Quinta, Calif.) is tied for 89th with a score of 153 for the opening day of competition, followed by Tyler Labrum (So., Roosevelt, Utah) in 95th place with a 160 and Jared Freeman (So., Brazil, Ind.) in 97th place at 165.
In addition, another Air Force golfer, junior Chad Follett (El Paso, Texas) is competing unattached this week, and currently sits alongside O'Bryant in a tie for 54th place. Follett fired the only even-par round for the Falcons on Monday, shooting a 72 in the opening round.
The Ron Moore Invitational concludes tomorrow with the final round slated to begin at 8:00 a.m.
