Falcons Open Regional Action Taking Victories in All Contests

BERKELEY, Calif. -- The Air Force boxing team opened the quarterfinal round of the National Collegiate Boxing Association Western Regionals in impressive style on Thursday, March 23. Competing in three of the four scheduled bouts, Air Force picked up decisions in all three contests.
Sophomore Clifford Moore earned the Falcons' first victory of the night, as he decisioned Santa Clara's Justin Perna in the 156-pound quarterfinal match. Junior Joe Conrad added to Air Force's win total, as he picked up a decision from Jeremiah Smith of San Jose State in the 165-pound bout. Classmate Evin Negron concluded the Falcons' night with another victory-by-decision in a 175-pound quarterfinal match with Santa Clara's Mike Pelzel.
The NCBA Western Regionals continue tomorrow (March 24) in Berkeley, Calif., with 13 semifinal contests. Members of the Air Force team will compete in seven of the bouts. Willie Lloyd (112), Jeremy Homan (125), Luis Pena (139), John Quinn (195) and Ian Tuznik (hywt) all advanced to the final night of action based on seedings.
