Falcons Finish First Day At Wyoming Cowboy Classic

Scottsdale, Ariz. -- With two rounds under wraps at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic, being held at the 7,133-yard, par-70 Talking Stick North Course, the Air Force golf team sits in 20th place in the team standings with a score of 600. New Mexixo State sits atop the leaderboard at 579 (-1), while Arizona, North Texas and host Wyoming all sit four strokes behind in a tie for second place. Meanwhile, New Mexico State's Danny Bowen and Ben Kreger are tied with Kennesaw State's Nick Drane for first place in the individual standings at 137 (-3).
Leading the way for the Falcons in the individual standings is sophomore Bob Whitney (La Quinta,Calif.), who currently sits tied for 30th place at 142 (+2) after firing a low round of 69 to begin the day. Junior Tyler Goulding (Tracy, Calif.), the lone Air Force golfer to shoot an even-par 70 in the second round, is in a tie for 56th place at 146, while junior Chad Follett (El Paso, Texas) and sophomore Matt Tanis (Asbury, N.J.) are both tied for 103rd place with a two-round score of 156. Rounding out the competition for the Falcons is freshman Shaun O'Bryant (Colorado Springs, Colo.), who sits in 105th place with an opening day score of 157.
The final round of the Wyoming Cowboy Classic is slated to begin tomorrow with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start.
