Falcons Finish 20th At Wyoming Cowboy Classic

Scottsdale, Ariz. -- At the conclusion of the final round of the Wyoming Cowboy Classic, being held at the 7,133-yard, par-70 Talking Stick North Course, the Air Force golf team finished in 20th place in the team standings with a three-round score of 890. New Mexico State won the team title with a two-day score of at 836 (-4), while Western Kentucky fired an 8-under-par round on Tuesday to finish in second place at 839. Earning medalist honors was New Mexico State's Danny Bowen, who defeated teammate Ben Kreger in a play-off after both turned in scores of 205 for the tournament.
Air Force's top finisher in the tournament was sophomore Bob Whitney (La Quinta,Calif.), who ended in a tie for 32nd place with a score of 214 (+4), while junior Tyler Goulding (Tracy, Calif.) finished four strokes behind in a tied for 55th place. Junior Chad Follett (El Paso, Texas) turned in the Falcons best round on Tuesday, firing a 71 in the third round to finish tied for 94th place at 227. Wrapping up the group of competitors for Air Force were sophomore Matt Tanis (Asbury, N.J.) and freshman Shaun O'Bryant (Colorado Springs, Colo.), both tied for 102nd place with a two-day total of 232.
The Falcons are back in action later this week for their final tournament of the regular season, as they head to the PING Golf Cougar Classic, hosted by BYU, in Provo, Utah, April 14-15.
