Falcons Wrap Up First Day At Mountain West Conference Championship

Sunriver, Ore. -- Following the conclusion of one round, the Air Force golf team holds a score of 319 to sit in ninth place at the 2006 Mountain West Conference Championship, being held at the 7,630-yard, par-72 Crosswater Course at the Sunriver Resort. BYU and New Mexico are tied for the team lead at 284, while BYU's Clay Ogden leads the individual standings at 69 (-3) .

Pacing the Falcons on day one is junior Tyler Goulding (Tracy, Calif.), an all-conference performer in 2005, who fired a 3-over-par 75 to tie for 22nd place. Sophomores Tyler Labrum (Roosevelt, Utah) and Bob Whitney (La Quinta, Calif.) are tied for 39th at 81, while sophomore Matt Tanis (Asbury, N.J.) sits one stroke behind in a tie for 42nd place. Rounding out the group for Air Force is junior Chad Follett (El Paso, Texas), who is currently in 45th place with a first round score of 90.

The second round of the MWC Championship is set to begin tomorrow morning at 9:00.
