Wilson and Frash Earn Academic All-District Honors

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. -- Air Force senior Nick Wilson and junior Margaret Frash were named to the 2006 ESPN The Magazine All-America? Track and Field/Cross Country University Division All-District VII Team, as voted on by the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and released this morning (June 1).
A two-time conference champion, Wilson holds a 3.45 grade-point-average in mechanical engineering. He is a four-time honoree on the Mountain West Conference Academic All-Conference team for both cross country and track. During the outdoor season, Wilson won the MWC 10,000-meter run, while scoring in the 5000-meter run. He also finished within the top-five of the 3000- and 5000-meter events during the indoor season. In addition, Wilson picked up a second-place finish at the 2005 MWC Cross Country Championships. The Jacksonville, Fla., native is a three-time all-conference contender in cross country and a two-time all-conference honoree in track.
Holding a 3.86 GPA in aeronautical engineering, Frash is the Academy record-holder in the 3000-meter steeplechase. She has earned academic all-conference honors in cross country and track during each of her first three seasons. The native of Newburyport, Mass., is also a MWC Scholar-Athlete award winner. A NCAA Regional Qualifier in the steeplechase during each of the past two seasons, Frash has also earned academic accolades from the U.S. Track Coaches Association.
Both Falcons were named to the first-team of their respective teams. As members of the first-team, Wilson and Frash will both be listed on the upcoming ballots for the national Academic All-America team.
