Falcons Drop Two in Missouri The Air Force Falcons lost a pair of games at the Diadora Invitational last weekend in Springfield, Mo. On Friday, Air Force fell 3-1 to Missouri State University as Danny May notched a pair of goals for the Bears. Senior Brendan Greenaway scored for the Falcons. Then on Sunday, Evansville downed AFA, 3-2. Sophomore Jason Dall scored the first goal of his career and Ian Hauck also tallied for Air Force. Junior Andy Nigro assisted on both goals.
Up Next Air Force travels to Omaha, Neb., to face Creighton on Sturday, Sept. 23 at 7 p.m. (CT).
Rhynard Leads MPSF in Goals Freshman Josh Rhynard leads the MPSF with three goals this season. He is third in the league in scoring, averaging 1.20 points per game.

Missouri State 3, Air Force 1 Danny May scored two goals, including the game-winner in the 47th minute, to lead the Missouri State men's soccer team to a 3-1 victory over Air Force Friday on day one of the Quality Inn & Suites/Diadora Tournament. With the victory, MSU improved to 3-1-1, while the Falcons lost their third straight game and are 0-3-1.
The Bears got on the board first less than five minutes into the contest as Justin Alford took a pass from Ryan Anderson and beat Falcon goalie Brian Guyette to the far post.
Air Force tied the game in the 13th minute when Brendan Greenaway converted the team's first penalty kick of the season. Greenaway, a senior co-captain, became the first Falcon other than freshman Josh Rhynard to score a goal this season.
May struck for his first goal just 1:20 into the second half by beating Guyette to the upper left corner from seven yards. He then notched an unassisted goal in the 86th minute to seal the victory.
The Bears controlled the action throughout the entire game, outshooting the Falcons 25-6 in total shots and 12-3 in shots on goal. May and Yanik Joseph each attempted a game-hgih five shots. Guyette came up with a season-high nine saves, while MSU keeper Lance Parker made one save and the Bear defense made another.
Evansville 3, Air Force 2 Tom Irvin scored the game-winning goal with just under five minutes remaining as the Evansville men's soccer team defeated Air Force, 3-2, Sunday on the final day of the Quality Inn & Suites/Diadora Tournament. With the victory, Evansville improved to 4-1, while the Falcons lost their fourth straight game and are 0-4-1 this season.
Irvin scored his first goal of the season with 4:55 left in the second half to break a 2-all tie. Irvin took a pass from Ian McAuley and beat Falcons goalkeeper Paul Elsbernd from 10 yards out. Elsbernd, who replaced Air Force starter Brian Guyette at halftime, registered three saves and allowed just the one goal, but suffered his first loss of the season.
Evansville got on the board first seven minutes in when Cory Elenio scored an unassisted goal, beating Guyette for his fourth tally of the campaign. Jarrett Neff gave the Purple Aces a 2-0 lead with a penalty kick in the 41st minute.
Air Force sophomore Jason Dall cut the lead in half with the first goal of his career in the 48th minute. Dall took a pass from junior Andy Nigro off a corner kick and placed a five-yard shot past Evansville goalie Alec Dufty. Nigro notched his second assist of the game less than three minutes later as junior Ian Hauck headed in a corner kick to tie the game at 2-all.
The Purple Aces outshot the Falcons 19-11 overall and 8-6 in shots on goal. Dufty recorded four saves for Evansville, while Guyette made two saves before leaving the game.
