Falcons Head To Lone Star Duals

The Air Force wrestling team returns to action this week, Jan. 6, at the prestigious Lone Star Duals in Grand Prairie. The Falcons will face off against No. 4 Oklahoma State, Central Oklahoma (No. 1 in Division II), Brown and No. 19 Wisconsin. Meanwhile, a small contingent will be in action at the Tournament of Champions, hosted by Colby CC, Jan. 5-6.
Scouting the Falcons...
Air Force currently has a 1-1 dual record entering this weekend's competition. Leading the way for the Falcons are junior Jake Kriegbaum (141) and Anthony Stegeman (HWT) currently 2-0 in dual action this season.
Last Time Out...
The Falcons competed last week at the Midlands Championships, hosted by Northwestern. Senior captain Bridger Lord led the group, notching the lone victory for Air Force.
Scouting the Cowboys...
Oklahoma State, ranked fourth in the latest USA Today/InterMat/NWCA Coaches poll, has a 4-1 dual record, its lone loss coming to second-ranked Minnesota. The Cowboys have five wrestlers ranked nationally in their respective weight classes, led by senior Johny Hendricks, ranked No. 1 at 165 pounds.
Scouting the Bronchos...
Central Oklahoma, the top-ranked team on the Division II level, enters this weekend with a 3-1 dual record. UCO has nine ranked wrestlers, paced by undefeated at top-rated Kyle Evans (141).
Scouting the Bears...
Brown opens its dual slate this weekend at the Lone Star Duals. In addition to taking on Air Force, the Bears will also face Navy, Boise State and Northern Colorado.
Scouting the Badgers...
Wisconsin, rated 19th in the latest USA Today/InterMat/NWCA Coaches Poll, is currently 10-0 on the season. The Badgers have fourwrestlers ranked nationally by the NWCA, led by junior Craig Henning, rated third at 157 pounds.

The Tournament of Champions...
Four Falcons will be competing this weekend at the Tournament of Champions, hosted by Colby CC. Freshmen Joshua Lopez (157), Tyler French (174) and Steve Larson (HWT) and junior AJ Harris (174) will all take part in the tournament.
Up Next...
The Falcons are off next weekend, but return to action Jan. 20. Air Force will take on Pittsburgh on the road, while a group of Falcons will compete at the Glen Brand Open in Omaha, Neb. The Falcons will also compete at the Wendy's Duals on Jan. 21.
