Falcons Open Friday Night Fights Action with 11 Bouts

Junior Nathan Liptak was named the Academy's Boxer of the Week, after claiming a referee-stopped victory in the second round over Marcus Tenenbaum at 153 pounds. Using sharp counter-punches and strong combinations, Liptak was able to defeat Tenenbaum.
David Simon opened the night with a decisional-victory over Michael Mizes in a 135-pound bout. Alexander Shin claimed a win by decision at 139 pounds over Gabrila Valdeloeon, while Daniel Uribe decisioned Matthew Demars at 112 pounds.
Sean May earned the judges decision in a 160-pound contest with Daryn Nelson, while Clifford Moore took a decision from James Dunn at 173 pounds. Andrew Catoire won his 185-pound bout with Jon Andresen, while defending 119-pound national champion Jesse Horton defeated Dean Chuva in a 122-pound decision. Cory Tintzman decisioned William Lindeberg in a heavyweight bout.
In addition to Liptak, two other Falcons claimed referee-stopped victories - both of which came in the second round. Gavin Foley earned a victory over Alex Weiner at 150 pounds, while Fred Dierderich picked up a win over Merin Alaybeyoglu at 162 pounds.
The Falcons return to action next week (Oct. 19) with another round of Friday Night Fights in the Academy's Upper Boxing Room. The first bell is set to sound at 4:30 p.m.
