Senior forward Andy Nigro was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Brine Player of the Week after scoring a goal and adding an assist in the Falcons' 2-1 win at Denver on Saturday. Nigro registered his first three points of the season by putting away a ninth-minute goal and dishing out a 43rd minute game-winning assist. The Falcons snapped a six-game winless streak in the process, while picking up their first conference win.
Nigro, who is third on the team with 18 total shots, joins senior goalie Brian Guyette as the two Falcons to earn player of the week honors in 2007.
Air Force (3-7-1, 1-2 MPSF) returns home for a pair of games at Cadet Soccer Stadium this weekend. The Falcons host San Jose State on Friday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m., and Sacramento State on Sunday, Oct. 21 at 1 p.m.
