ON YOUR MARK: The Robert Shine Invitational will begin at 4:30 p.m., with the women's weight throw and long jump, as well as the men's high jump. The mile kicks off the track events at 7 p.m.

THEY'VE DONE IT AGAIN: Backed by one winner and 18 scoring finishers, the Air Force men held off host
A ONE-TWO PUNCH: Junior Travis Picou was the lone Air Force winner in today's action, clocking a time of 21.39 in the 200-meter dash. Picou also claimed a second-place mark in the 60-meter dash behind a time of 6.86.
WAY TO GO!: The men's mile provided 20 points toward the Falcons cause - the best single-event output of the weekend. Sophomore Daniel Castle was the event runner-up with a time of 4:28.19, while classmate Justin Mason finished fourth in 4:31.43. Freshmen Arthur Grijalva and Austin Fritzke placed fifth (4:36.73) and sixth (4:51.21), respectively, in the Falcons' impressive claim on four of the top six spots.
AIMING FOR ALLY: For the third time this season, freshman Ally Romanko was named the Academy's female track athlete of the week. Romanko crossed the finish line of the 800-meter run in 2:13.65 - a career-best time and the fifth-best time in Academy history. Romanko, one of just two Falcons to earn the weekly women's team award, also holds the sixth-best time in Academy history in the 400-meter dash.
FEARSOME FRESHMEN: With the exception of senior Dierra
FOURTH-CLASS FIRST: Freshman Daniel Paladino set a new Freshman Class record in the weight throw at the Air Force Invitational. Tossing a mark of 51'1¾", Paladino bested the previous class record of 49'7¼", which teammate Kirk Devine threw last year.
STOP THE PRESSES: The ink isn't event dry on the media guide, but this current crop of Air Force athletes have made significant impact on the program's history. Two Academy records, seven Class records and 22 all-time list incursions have been set in just the first five weeks of the season.
