Falcons Conclude First Day of Mt. SAC Multi Meet

Walsh amassed a total of 3968 points in his first day to stand in second place of the Mt. SAC Relays Division. Included in that was a time of 10.98 in the 100-meter dash that opened the day's events. Walsh improved his career- best long jump to 23'9", which is seventh-best distance in Academy history. He also recorded a distance of 39'4" in the shot put and cleared 6'6" in the high jump (the best height by any Falcon this season). Walsh concluded the day with a 49.43 in the 400-meter dash.
In the decathlon's California Invitational Division, junior Skylar Morgan is in seventh with 3379 points, while classmate Matt Gensic is in 14th, with 3196 points. Morgan accounted for times of 11.74 in the 100-meter dash and 53.78 in the 400-meter dash, while accounting for distances of 21'6¼" in the long jump and 36'3½" in the shot put. He rounded out the afternoon with a height of 6'5" in high jump.
Gensic timed 11.76 in the 100-meter dash and 52.31 in the 400-meter dash, while clearing 5'11¼" in the high jump. He also recorded marks of 20'9¾" in the long jump and 33'0¼" in the shot put.
On the women's side, freshman Danielle McCarty is 26th in the standings following four events of the heptathlon. She recorded a time of 16.22 in the 100-meter hurdles and closed out the day with a time of 26.84 in the 200-meter dash. She also cleared 4'10¼" in the high jump, while throwing 28'2¼" in the shot put.
The Falcons conclude action at the Mt. SAC Multi-Meet tomorrow (April 12). McCarty opens competition at 10 a.m., while Morgan and Gensic begins at 11 a.m. Walsh's first event of the decathlon is slated to begin at 12:30 p.m.
