Dana Pounds Finishes Fourth at Pan American Games

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil - Former Air Force Academy and current World Class Athlete Program standout Dana Pounds placed fourth in the javelin throw at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Friday, July 27. The two-time NCAA champion in the javelin posted a distance of 190'3" to finish fourth in the 10-competitor field. World record-holder Osleidys Menendez of Cuba won the event with a throw of 204'6".
Pounds returns to action at the end of August with the 2007 World Outdoor Championships in Osaka, Japan.
