Dana Pounds Concludes Competition at World Championships

OSAKA, Japan - 2Lt Dana Pounds threw a 180'5" to place 26th in the qualifying round of javelin competition at the 11th-Annual International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) World Outdoor Championships for Athletics in Osaka, Japan, on Wednesday, Aug. 29. Representing the Air Force World Class Athlete Program (WCAP), Pounds was the lone javelin representative on Team USA.
Pounds placed 14th in her qualifying flight, which included Nikola Brejchova of the Czech Republic, who won the first day of competition with a throw of 210'11".
